Fiddler on the Roof

 

  • Fiddler on the Roof was led by Ari Axelrod (The Jewish Week "36 To Watch Award" - one of the 36 most influential Jews in The United States) as Tevye, Gina Lamparella (Broadway's Fiddler on the Roof (Tzeitel), Caroline or Change, The Phantom of the Opera) as Golde, and Margo Buchanan ("Miracle on 34th Street" and numerous regional productions) as Yente. They were joined by Rising Stars and recent college graduates Eliza Levy (Univ. of Cincinnati - CCM) as Tzeitel, Zoe Mezoff (Univ. of Cincinnati - CCM) as Hodel and Sophie Liu David (Northwestern University) as Chava.

    Also joining the cast of Fiddler on the Roof were Ari Barmor (University of Oklahoma) as Motel and Jordan Radis (Emerson College) as Perchik. They performed along local favorites Wesley Byers (Fyedka), Tim X Davis (Lazar Wolf), and David Lin (The Fiddler). Two Central Kentucky youths joined the supporting cast - Taylinn Dickens (GTAP at Winburn Middle School) as Shprintze, and Ileana Worhunsky (The Lexington School) as Bielke. 

    Supporting roles were played by more of Lexington’s favorite local actors including Karyn Czarnecki (Grandma Tzeitel), Catherine Gaffney (Fruma Sarah), Paul R Thomas (Rabbi), and Brad Ulery (Constable).

    The ensemble were comprised of both professional actors from Lexington and college students/recent graduates from around the country including Andrew Burke (Univ. of Cincinnati - CCM), Jordan Campbell (Univ. of Kentucky), Jacob Canderozzi (Texas State University), Jessica Pearl French, Nick Gundrum (Univ. of Cincinnati - CCM), Cory Hammond (Pace University), Jesse Hanks (The Univ. of Oklahoma), Tanner Hoertz, Dan Klimko (Univ. of Cincinnati - CCM), Haley Marie O'Donnell (Youngstown State Univ.), Katie Owen, Marc Pavan, Lauranne Rose (Asbury University), Anthony Savino (Montclair State University), Courtney Smith (Univ. of Kentucky), Kelli Jo Summers (Samford University), and Matt Villar (Arizona State University).

  • Artistic Director Lyndy Franklin Smith (A Chorus Line, Disney’s The Little Mermaid) directed, and Colby Q. Lindeman (Wicked, The Cher Show) choreographed Fiddler on the Roof. The Lex Resident Music Director, Dr. Brock Terry, music directed both productions and conducted The Lex Orchestra, comprised of spectacular instrumentalists from across Central Kentucky. 

    Additional Creative Team Members included Tanya Harper (Lighting Design), Marcus Ross (Sound Design), Kevin D. Nedberg (Production Coordinator), Brandon T. Holmes (Production Stage Manager), Elizabeth Payne (Wardrobe Supervisor for the season), Laura Swygert (Stage Manager), Michael Rintamaa (Rehearsal Accompanist), Christina Haffler (Costume Shop Floor Manager), Esther Neel (Props Coordinator), Jeff Richardson (Assistant Lighting Designer), Will Goodlett (Assistant Technical Director) and Susan Jones (ASL Interpretation.)

  • The Lex Resident Music Director, Brock Terry, conducted The Lex Orchestra, comprised of spectacular instrumentalists from across Central Kentucky.

  • Participants in the College Intern/Apprentice/Observer Program included Crayton Haney (Webster University) and Julia Sutherland (Univ. of Kentucky) as Administrative Interns, Rachel Mondschein (Syracuse University) as Stage Management Intern, Spencer Stanley (Univ. of Cincinnati - CCM) as Music Intern, JT Baniak (The Ohio State University) and Noah Funderburk (Wright State University) as Technical Production Interns, and Abby Barrientes (Univ. of Cincinnati - CCM), Hart Hallos (Columbia University), and Kaja Jaques (Asbury University) as Wardrobe Interns.

    For Fiddler on the Roof, Olivia Marquardt (Univ. of Kentucky) joined as Direction Observer and Charlize O'Dell (Univ. of Kentucky) joined as Choreography Observer.

  • HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMING

    Central Kentucky Students participate in our Youth and High School Apprentice Program - gaining experience both onstage and behind the scenes.

    For Fiddler on the Roof, High School Performing Apprentices included Cricket Brown (BCTC/Western Hills High School), Bratcher H. Chamberlain (Lexington Christian Academy), Vykai Forrester (Bryan Station High School), Ella Harris (SCAPA Bluegrass), Taylor Hatfield (Bryan Station High School), Grace Hellard (SCAPA Lafayette), Carter Johnston (George Rogers Clark High School), Caroline Nalli (Christ the King), Luke Palmer (Lexington Catholic High School), Lola Prewitt (Lexington Latin School), and Abigayle Stokes (SCAPA Lafayette). 

    YOUTH PERFORMING APPRENTICES

    Youth Performing Apprentices included Patton Barlow-Fiero (SCAPA Bluegrass), Reilly Dalton (SCAPA Bluegrass), Isla Dawahare (Homeschool), Marshall Joyce (Edythe J. Hayes Middle School), Ian McKinney Nunnelley (Jesse Clark Middle School), and Macy Rue Petralia (Edythe J. Hayes Middle School).

    HIGH SCHOOL TECHNICAL APPRENTICE

    High School Technical Apprentices included Isabelle Padgett (Woodford County High School), Mace Thomas (The STEAM Academy), Hadley Collins (Lafayette Senior High School), Ruby Pascale-Hague (Redwood Cooperative), Ollie Jennings-Posner (The Lexington School), Sterling Coleman (Rowan County Senior High School), Luke Palmer (Lexington Catholic High School), and Lola Prewitt (Lexington Latin School).
